Description: Brampton Talks Toastmasters Club held its very first meeting at Ebenezer Community Hall. Roger Caesar, the two-time semi-finalist in the World Championships of Public Speaking, highlighted this fun-filled meeting. It began with club founders and sponsors, Sue Hopcoft and Dennis Bartel, striking the gavel to commence the launch of Brampton's 15th Toastmasters Club. Guests were entertained with three speakers, evaluations, a fun-filled Table Topics session led by Lyndsy Johnson, and a demonstration on the benefits of Toastmasters. Among those in attendance were Club Growth Director District 86, Jacklyn Payne, and DTM and Public Relations Manager District 86, Matthew Ogbulafor. Toastmaster Millie Leng delighted everyone with a speech on âWhat is Toastmasters?â At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice communication and leadership skills through its current educational program and, soon to come, Pathways. At Toastmasters you learn by doing and receiving feedback and mentoring from experienced Toastmasters, all in a self-paced program. Brampton Talks Toastmasters will continue to meet every Monday (expect for holidays). Toastmasters International is a worldwide non-profit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders.
