Overcoming Fear of Public Speaking - Becoming a Confident Speaker & Leader
Description: Brampton Talks Toastmasters had another great meeting. As part of the Leadership Excellence Series, Sue Hopcroft did an interactive presentation on goal setting and planning. Table Topics allowed members to practice their impromptu in one minute on topics picked such as âYour Dream Boss.â Attendees gathered after the meeting with Public Relations Manager Matthew Ogbulafor who held the proclamation signed by Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey proclaiming October âToastmasters Monthâ in Brampton. There are 15 clubs in Brampton including the newest prospect, Brampton Talks Toastmasters Club, which are changing lives and contributing to the community in Brampton. Toastmasters clubs provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. This new club meets Mondays 7:15pm at Ebenezer Community Hall and will continue to develop and practice communication and leadership skills in the safe, supportive environment Toastmasters has been known for since its inception in 1924. Members work through projects and assignments that enable them to build real-world skills in a variety of disciplines. The Toastmasters proven curriculum was built on four principles of experiential learning, peer feedback, mentoring, and self-pacing that makes it ideal for adult education in our fast-paced lives.
