Brampton Bombers Home Opener

Description: The Brampton Bombers Junior B Hockey Team had their home opener Friday, September 16 at their new arena at the Earnscliffe Recreation Centre. They had about 150 people in attendance, as their puck dropped on their season. The City of Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey was there to drop the puck in the opening ceremony, along with 14 year old anthem singer Brooke Pastuch. Brampton Bombers Play by Play Broadcaster Nicholas Fiore spoke with the mayor of Brampton Linda Jeffrey and she said, "It is great to have the Bombers playing here at Earnscliffe." Although the defending Midwestern Conference Champs Kitchener Dutchmen came in and spoiled the bombers party with a 7-2 victory, the bombers played extremely well and fought until the end. They then went to Guelph the next day and lost 3-2 at the OHL Sleeman Centre, with a hard fought game. They hit the post at the end but couldn't put it away. The Brampton Bombers are looking good and good things can come this season. For more information, visit bramptonbombers.pointstreaksites.com.
